13 Years of Adventures
Bishop celebrated his 13th birthday with a nice little ride in the Bish Bucket, and a walk at his favorite park.
Bishop’s life did not start out the best. His beautiful blue eyes really were the source of the sadness behind them. He was used as a breeding stud, and chained up outside for years. When he finally got rescued, he got shipped off to a shelter far from his home. When the first foster family tried rehabilitating him, he became aggressively protective about the girls in the house, and had to go back to the shelter. That was when I met him.
Bishop was one of the “hard cases” I would walk when I volunteered at the dog shelter at the side of my former motorcycle club clubhouse after my work week as a motorcycle mechanic and tow truck driver. I worked Saturdays at the shop and then would walk dogs before I would be on-call for Saturday night. At the time, the owner of the shop was open to us having a shop dog. I adopted Bishop and would bring him to work with me every day. He was originally supposed to live there, but would get separation anxiety every time I left him alone. Eventually, he just became my dog.
During Covid, I ended up selling my Harley and buying and buying a clapped out Ural for us to ride on. Eventually, I started a pooper scooper business, and he went to work with me every day. Now, he is very much a house dog, and quite happy about it.
It’s been a wild ride, but we’re still rolling and he’s good and healthy. He’s starting to show his age a little bit, but not in a bad way. He settled down and become a mature, older gentleman, and it’s beautiful to see.
Thanks to everybody who has supported us in our journey! Check out bishbucketadventures.motorcycles, Bishop’s very own website!
