A lot of times, making changes means making sacrifices, sometimes it just means other ways to do things than what you’ve been spoonfed.
Is there any human being alive that doesn’t have any changes that they want or need to make in their life? Doesn’t everybody have something about themselves that they want to do better about? Many times whether or not people are effective in making a change is a matter of means and motivation. Everything is easy if you have the means. If you don’t, it takes a lot more motivation.
Motivation can take many forms. The most powerful forms of motivation are love and anger. It seems very basic to most people that love can be an incredible agent of change. What a lot of people don’t realize is the creative nature of anger.
How many things in our world would’ve never changed if nobody ever got angry about them enough to address them. Usually innovations are answers to problems. There needs to be a point of pain for a new solution to be birthed into the world. Without anger, our species would not have evolved.
The relationship between motivation and means is very much intertwined. Sometimes it seems like the motivation is there, but means isn’t. It can be argued that if the motivation were truly there, the pain point would exist to create the means. Often times the solutions are there, but we just need to try to find them. The path becomes clear once you look for it.
